How to make a commision:
A drawing of your beloved pet or maybe a gift for a friend is a wonderful keepsake.
If you would like to commision a drawing it is quite simple.
Firstly decide if you would like a graphite, or coloured drawing and what size portrait would suit your pet. For example if you have a mouse you may just like an A6 or A5 picture, but if you have a horse then A4 or A3 would be more suitable. If you are unsure then please contact me for any advice.
I ask for a 25% deposit for all commisions. This is because the drawings take a fair amount of time and I need some security before investing my time in you. The rest can be paid when the drawing is complete and you are happy with it.
I will need you to choose a good photograph of the pet. The photograph needs to be as clear as possible, in good light and preferably showing the animals eyes clearly, as their personality is seen through their eyes. If taking a photograph specifically to be drawn, then please think about the angle and pose of your pet, get down on your knees to their level rather than looking down at them. (unless it is a horse!) Take the photograph in natural light if possible. Make sure you don't miss their ears out, or if you want a full body portrait include their toes and tail! Obviously if it is not always possible to get a clear picture, maybe your pet has sadly passed away or it is a surprise present for someone then please send me what you have. But just be aware I can only draw what I can see!
Any correspondence and photographs will remain confidential and only downloaded onto my personal secure computer, unless you give permission for the photo to be made public on this site.
Once I have your pictures, and I know what size and medium you prefer I can make a start on your drawing. If you would like updates on progress I can send you pictures of the drawing as I go along, but you may like to wait until its finished, this is your choice.
When I have completed the drawing then I will send you a copy for your approval, some changes could still be made at this point if you are not satisfied. Once you are happy then I will ask you for full payment and I can post or deliver your drawing.
If you want any advice, have any questions that I have not answered, then please don't hesitate to contact me.
Please note that there is usually a waiting list for my pet portraits, however I will inform you of the expected commencement date when you confirm your portrait.
